Kickin’ it at the Top

Tonight we went to the world championship aerial ski jump contest up at Deer Valley.  It was *awesome*!  We got a sweet parking spot, stayed warm hiking it up the slopes, made fun of all the people that took the chair lift that wasn’t moving and was so close to the ground, I jumped up and touched a lady’s foot.  Ok, I didn’t actually touch her foot, but I think I brushed it, I basically touched it.  We saw the coolest jumps by guys and ladies.  The Chinese were definitely ‘kickin’ it at the top’ or at least that’s what the announcer kept saying.  They were pretty good.

Here’s where the fun part comes in.  We brought blankets because we thought it might be a little chilly (actually the temps were great) and I was sure I was going to fall down the steep part of the slope we had to walk down.  My friend lays his blanket down and says, here, sit down.  We both sat on the blanket and scooted down the mountain!  Then this guy looks back at us and says – here let me help – and he pulls us down!  It was awesome.  Then we had one more go at it when Kasey and I sat on the blanket and Trevor pulled us down.  We got going pretty fast.  It was so awesome.

And the guy that won the men’s competition broke a world record for the highest number of points awarded.  He was that good.

Ladies Luncheon

Today I attended a luncheon that was sponsored in part by my company.  It was a nice luncheon with a silent auction, live auction and Comedy Sports – which by the way, I’ve never seen and I was pretty impressed.  One of the other sponsors was a company called Sisel.  They had some swag bags with skin care products and such.

Here’s what I got:
1. anti-aging wrinkle cream
2. lip plumper
3. night facial cream
4. shampoo
5. conditioner
6. face and body lotion
7. facial cleanser
8. Noni-like juice supplement – called ‘Eternity’
9. SkinDu – skin moisturizing mist
10.SLENDER POPS – yes, that’s right.  Lolli-pops you eat before your meal to suppress your appetite so you lose weight.  SLENDER POPS.  Isn’t that great?

So we were told we were old, wrinkly, dry and fat.  How’s that for being an honored guest?  My self-esteem went way up!

PS – I used the facial cleanser and night cream tonight and my skin is SO soft.  I’m a fan already.  Hopefully I’ll live to my potential of 125.  Why die at 75 if you don’t have to?

Unpacking

Update on my unpacking.  Here’s a pic of the boxes and packing paper from my move, well some of the boxes and packing paper (or there should be a pic - the internet isn't working so well).  The dishes are all done and put away and there’s still open cabinet space.  Now I just need couches, a vacuum, and a washer and dryer and I’ll feel a little more complete.

One good/bad thing about this move is that I now have my old bed again.  Many of you know how much I love my bed.  I’ll tell you how comfortable this bed is: I woke up late twice this week.  I don’t even remember my head touching the pillow.  I just sink in to heaven-ness.  In fact.  Why am I still up typing this post?  I’m going to go to that peaceful place. that is my bed.

Plug for the Hale Center Theater

A Tale of Two Cities is playing at the Hale Center Theater in Salt Lake right now.  It’s a fabulous show and I know the music director.  I think this is one of the first (if not THE first) time it’s been performed off Broadway.  I’ll be going in a couple weeks.  You should get tickets too!
