Giant Enormous Bean Pole

'Emily, You're enormous!'

That was the hello I got from a guy at church today.

Enormous.  I was wearing heels, which I do most Sundays.  Tall, yes.  Enormous, I don't think so.

Wearing heels made me eye level with him.  It's not like I was two feet taller than him.

We might or might not still be friends.

End of Summer Ski Lift

Ever want to know what's under all that snow when you're skiing down the mountain?  Rocks.  Lots of rocks and trees and dirt.  I know.  I took the ski lift up the mountain last weekend and that's all I saw.  Lots of rocks.  Skiing became a lot more dangerous to me.  It was kinda fun to not be cold.  And to ride the lift down the mountain.  Never done that before.

And one of the best moments of the weekend...got over to Bree's house about 11:30....walked in the apartment, said, Bree, as I was walking up the stairs, I was really hoping there would be some chocolate chip cookies in here....well, the wonderful cookie baking Bree fixed the no-cookie situation real quick  and until 2 a.m. I ate those delicious mouth watering cookies.  They were perfect.  She is such a good cookie maker baker.  And it brought back so many memories from our wonderful days back at the Square.  Then she sent me home with a bag full and I had cookies for breakfast for the next several mornings...bad thing about eating cookies for breakfast as you're walking out the door to go to work.  Be sure you check the mirror before you see any coworkers in person.  Sometimes they aren't too great about telling you you have a bit of chocolate on your face.  That might have happened to me on Tuesday. Maybe.

Sunday was my mom's birthday.  I have the best mom.  She is so wonderful.  And she makes great chocolate chip cookies, and great absolutely everything else you can think of that's edible.  I'm going to be just like her when I grow up.  Someday.

Wall post on a friend's facebook page:

'So you totally tricked me into facebook stocking you...'

Facebook stocking.

Dinner Group

I joined a dinner group with some people in my apartment complex.  It's my first time in a dinner group. Stats: 12 people.  Monday - Thursday.  Take your plate and fork.  Cook once every 3 weeks. Good deal?  I think so!   I'm a little worried what a full meal will do to me in the long term after I've tried to lose weight and limit my eating out.  But it's lots of fun to eat a good dinner each night and see friends and try new recipes and not have to cook!

Hopefully I'll balance things out...Any ideas for what to cook when it's my night??

Sunset Sheep

Can you imagine falling asleep wtih hundreds of sheep surrounding you in the mountains?  I didn't think I'd be able to sleep a wink, but it was really quite peaceful.  I didn't wake up all night, oh except to readjust my sweatshirt pillow 10 times and I thought I heard a cow, which was really a very masculine sounding ewe, but it could have been a bear.  Then one time I woke up and I just put my glasses on and looked up at the sky and watched the shooting stars.  It was so cool.  I think I'll sleep out under the stars again.  Definitely soon.

There could even be sheep again.
